It's Monday Again

Good Sunday evening!  This has been a beautiful, sunny spring Sunday.  Just got back from a trip to Maine where I had the privilege of being in the church in Fort Fairfield this morning.  I shared with the combined Sunday School classes on the topic, “What Is A Wesleyan?” and also spoke in the morning service.  This afternoon, I met with the LBA at Monticello as we discussed together various options in their pastoral search and transition.
Our General Superintendent, Dr. Earle Wilson was here in the District on Friday and met with our DBA to begin the process of DS search and selection.  Please be in prayer for this significant process.
Peter Main, our pastor in Crystal, has been off work for the past six weeks due to a very severe back condition.  To date, the doctors have been unable to make a concrete diagnosis and I know that Peter, Joan, and the congregation at Crystal would appreciate your prayers at this time.
Attention Ladies:  Karen Cooney is organizing a bus trip to the Women of Faith Convention in Boston to be held July 27-29.  There are only 52 spots available so those interested should get their names in a.s.a.p.  For more information, contact Karen at 506-463-8220 or villageofmillville@nb.aibn.com
All pastors will have received information from the Department of Evangelism & Church Growth on the Easter offering.  This is worthy of your serious attention.
A word from Man Alive! Director, Ken McGeorge:  “May 4 & 5 – the District Men’s Convention will be held at King’s Valley.  This is a great opportunity for pastors to get together with laymen for a convention that will be stimulating, motivating, fun, spiritually challenging, and very timely.  Two terrific speakers who have been used of God to speak to men in many other venues will be with us.  This event could be transformational for your men’s ministry.  You can reserve rooms at the Beulah Heritage Hall or Hotel which is only 45 minutes drive from KV.  Don’t miss this opportunity.”
Largest offering in Beulah’s history – Sunday, July 14, 2007 – keep watching!
We have just entered the last month of the current church year.  Pastors will be receiving an email soon with annual reporting details.  Any of you requiring a last minute push to meet your USF obligation in full – it’s push time!  I want to thank you in advance for being prompt in completing your reports and filing them when requested in a timely matter.  The difference between mediocrity and excellence is small but mighty.
One week from today is Easter Sunday – rejoice and celebrate in this day that makes all the difference for us in the community of faith.
THOT:  When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced.  May you live your life so that when you die, the world will cry, and you will rejoice. – a Middle Eastern saying
