Monday Again

A number of our churches had special outreach and community connection events around Halloween that resulted in many new contacts and high level participation. Some of these were the familiar Trunk or Treat as well as a Family Fun Fest and other special programs. One of several examples is this word from Pastor Graham Perry at Saint John First – sj1 – “Here is some info from our FREE Fall Fest 2016 held Sunday afternoon- evening on Oct. 30. We had Bouncy Castles, Carnival Games, Popcorn, Hot Dogs, etc…
473 kids, 354 Adults – Total – 827 (300 more than last year)
PLUS
51 volunteers
AND
Over 700 hot dogs consumed

Kingswood students headed out to fill Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, for their Wednesday Pulse day, a day dedicated to experiencing God through head, hands, hearts, and habits of ministry.

Peter and I are meeting with all pastors in Huddles that began last week and will conclude this week. We were in Sussex, Fredericton and Houlton last week for excellent meetings dealing with membership changes and several other matters of prime interest and high level tribal information including but not limited to winter ministerial, revised health plan, discipleship ideation and revised cell phone group plan.  The positive vibe when the tribe gathers and networking is being developed is great to observe. We will be meeting this week in Halifax and Yarmouth.

My son Troy and I were at Beulah on Friday and stopped in the Tabernacle. There are more than 30 golf carts, several pianos, a wide variety of other items including a sports car that are wintering there. Click the photo for the full sized panoramic view of the Tab.

I was privileged last Wednesday to share in Kingswood’s PULSE day on the issue of politics – the contrasting structures on US and CDN systems and a discussion on how and to what extent political involvement/activity/ministry should interface. The morning session with the student body was invigorating and enjoyable and I was surprised by one student’s knowledge of political trivia – in fact that knowledge cost me $100 – but that is a long story for another time……
