The best days on Stanley Beach are when Grand Mananers gather to celebrate baptisms. This Sunday afternoon 6 transformed lives gave public testimony to their walk with Jesus – PTL! About 150 gathered at Lighthouse (John Lamos) this Lord’s Day for a very special standing stone in the history of God’s story on this historic island.
- In December, our Lighthouse family was paying down a mortgage of $485K and a challenge prompted by the Spirit came from Pete & Ginnie Benson. If the Lighthouse family would raise $100K towards the principal owing, they would take care of the rest. Sunday included a highlight moment when a symbolic mortgage was ripped to the cheers of praise for how God had eliminated this financial burden with the last payment being made in April.
Praise God for accelerating spiritual momentum by freeing up thousands of dollars monthly for this bright new day of sharing the Gospel on Grand Manan!

Pete Benson shared a powerful message with anointing and authority as he unpacked the rich truth of Acts 2 as it continues to shape the future of the Church on Grand Manan. His message began with giving honour to the legacy of their parents (pictured above) in the role model of love for Jesus and the Church. He also spoke about them being couples who believed in and practiced the power of prayer.
- We were all reminded of the importance of playing the part God has given us. There are no big gifts or small gifts in God’s eyes, but we all have the blessing of being stewards of what belongs to Him to further His work.
Journey (Matt Maxwell) also celebrated baptisms this Sunday!

Raised to Life – Kings Church Baptism Sunday
Kings (Brent Ingersoll) celebrated 48 baptisms across five locations in the Maritimes – PTL! An incredible day of lives transformed and the Gospel story at work in powerful ways to effect eternity. Remember to lift the Kings team up in prayer especially this weekend as many of them continue to invest in the growth and Kingdom impact of One Con.
- IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL LEAD PASTORS: The Local Church Statistical Report (LCSR) is due THIS WEEK. Please care for this item ASAP – if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Karrillee. There are a myriad of details to address from these reports in preparation for District Conference, your promptness is deeply appreciated.
It was a big day at Connection (Interim Sheryl York) in Truro this Sunday as Evan Oxner received a 95% vote to serve for the next two years (beginning in July) as Lead Pastor while he continues his Extended Call as Lead Pastor at Amherst Wesleyan. This strategic partnership between the two churches will allow for Evan to provide remote leadership through a TBD campus pastoral arrangement in Truro. We are grateful for Churches and Lead Pastors who are willing to sacrificially invest in other congregations during seasons of transition.

- Caton’s Island hosted an enjoyable and inspiring Spring Fundraising Dinner on Saturday to celebrate the beginning of the 30th summer of Director Dean Stephenson’s leadership – an incredible gift to the ministry of Caton’s Island to impact thousands of families in our region with the Gospel – congratulations, Dean & Carol!

Every few years, the Wesleyan Investment Foundation (WIF) hosts meetings for the North American District Superintendents. This time around we were invited to bring a guest. This past week I had the privilege of sharing in three days of events and leadership development in Atlanta at the John Maxwell Leadership Center with our Assistant DS Scott Prime.
- It was a high-calibre event on every level and added value with appreciation by the judicatory leaders of our Wesleyan family. This included interaction with the former and current Lead Pastors of 12Stone – Kevin Myers & Jason Berry as well as their DS Tim Fox. We are so blessed by the decades of gifted leadership of Craig Dunn as he prepares to pass the baton to Norwood Davis in 2026. WIF has grown in the past 25 years from having assets of approximately $200M to now managing $2.5B.
An introductory presentation to partnership opportunities with the Association of Related Churches (ARC) was followed by an in-depth presentation by the CSO of GLOO. District Multiplication Leadership Transition
Earlier this month we were inspired by our interaction with Executive Director Dwight Nash of Mobilize the Church as Scott Prime prepared to hand the baton of leadership for church multiplication on the Atlantic District.
- We are thrilled to announce that our new DBA-appointed Multiplication Co-Directors are now Nathan Maskery (Deep Water) and Jason Parker (New Hope – Windsor). They will continue to serve district churches and leaders who engage in Atlantic Multiplication Networks. We will be sharing an update at District Conference of the four networks preparing to launch five new Kingdom locations in the next 6-18 months.

Congratulations to Austin & Jess White (Tidal) on the happy May 23rd arrival of Lucy Willo (7 lbs. 1 oz.) A very proud papa shared, “We’re over the moon!”

- His memorial service was held this past Saturday with Scott’s uncle, John Symonds, and cousin, Brock Symonds, officiating at Corbett (Jason Vienneau). This picture captured a touching shared eulogy by Scott’s sister Dacia and his father Ken. Our prayers continue for all of the extended family and especially for Alicia McGeorge and their children. - We need to talk less to people about people, talk more to God about people, and talk more to people about God. (Pete Benson)
- Worthiness at The Table is more than just individual, it is communal. Christ’s Table is meant to unite, not divide. Together we make up His body. (Wayne Schmidt)
- Satan is waging war and we’re playing games. The battle is waged and won on our knees in prayer. There is a great tragedy of un-asked prayers. (Pete Benson)
