One Church worshipping one Lord with 3,700 students setting a new record for OneCon which was birthed in 2018 after a conversation between Andy Broad & Brent Ingersoll (Kings). Nearly every youth group in our region now engages this premier opportunity for corporate discipleship and Kingdom unity. Praise God for the hundreds of lives transformed this weekend!

Co-District Youth President & Woodstock Wesleyan Youth & Communications Pastor Ryan Genereaux provide the pictures above and shared, “OneCon was amazing! Over 4,000 people (3,700 of them students!) gathered at the Moncton Coliseum to worship Jesus and grow closer to Him! Here’s some highlights from our students…”

  • My take away from my first OneCon was that the speakers were speaking about my story with the need for hope. I’m going to start turning my sadness to God. I also feel even though it was only one weekend, my mind of God changed drastically. Everyone was so nice and we all were there for the same thing and it was to love our Lord. I think after my first OneCon I’m going to do a lot more for God. (High School Student)
  • I felt that I got a lot more spiritually connected with God  with the music and the preacher’s words. I have a gut feeling that God is trying to say something to me but I just don’t know what yet! (Middle School Student)
  • LEGO, FUNKO POPS, THE LAST TWO SONGS, AND STAYING UP UNTIL 1 AM! 😁 (Middle School Student)
This event has been bathed in prayer including 80 pastors from a variety of denominations who gathered in Truro last Wednesday:
  • It was so powerful to hear men and women praying and shedding tears over the 3,700 teens who will gather to worship Jesus. It was a reminder that we are all family, and like all families, we won’t always agree, but we are still family. (Denn Guptill)

Another exciting OneCon report was shared this Sunday by Assistant Pastor Kathryn Brooks during my visit at Havelock Wesleyan (Shawn Craven). CLICK HERE to enjoy the 6-minute video they put together to show their church family in the service.

  • Our Havelock Wesleyan family is multi-generational and community focussed. Shawn revealed a signed flag which was a gift to the church from the province. It will be hung in the church lobby as a reminder of their partnership with the Province of Nova Scotia by serving as the Incident Command Centre during the massive fire fighting efforts last year. The flag is signed by all 70-80 DNR personnel who served.
Shawn shared, “This will be a visible reminder each week as we leave of how God shows up in the tough times and that when we leave these doors we are entering the mission field.” We are blessed to have a pastoral team who serve as volunteer firefighters and model what it looks like to serve your community.

The “Encountering Jesus” Men’s Conference at Solid Rock Wesleyan (Peter Hayes) brought together 31 men from three churches for a powerful time of spiritual growth, fellowship, and renewal. The event was designed to encourage men in their faith journey by helping them experience a deeper connection with Jesus Christ.  Simon MacInnis, Director of Men’s Ministries, shared the following key highlights:
  • Unity in Christ: Men from multiple congregations came together, fostering a spirit of unity and brotherhood across church lines.
  • Biblical Teaching: Dynamic and Christ-centered messages challenged attendees to reflect on their personal walk with Jesus and to pursue a more intimate relationship with Him.
  • Worship & Prayer: Spirit-led worship sessions created space for heartfelt praise, personal reflection, and corporate prayer.
  • Small Group Discussions: Breakout groups encouraged open dialogue, accountability, and shared experiences—strengthening bonds among the men.
  • Life Application: Speakers emphasized practical ways to live out faith in everyday life, especially in leadership, family, and community roles.
The conference provided a meaningful opportunity for men to step away from daily routines, encounter Jesus in a fresh way, and return to their homes and churches encouraged, challenged, and spiritually refreshed.

Volunteer Appreciation @ Journey

Journey (Matt Maxwell) celebrated over 100 team members honoured with a catered BBQ this weekend. Matt shared, “These team members make what happens possible!” This is a great time of year to honour our leaders and volunteers!

  • Before you work on the content of the relationship, first work on the CONTEXT of the relationship. (Kevin Myers)
  • When a man of power kneels in prayer, hands lifted in surrender, it is a visible act of total submission to God. In that moment, ego and pride are laid down. It is no longer about position — it is about dependence. (Brian Dodd)
  • I am under authority, while I also have authority. I have to first choose to bow to the leadership God has put over me. If I don’t come under leadership, I can’t require others to come under my leadership. (Jason Berry)

Marketplace Discipleship Conference

Plan now to attend the Marketplace Disciple Maker Conference from Monday evening (July 7th) to Wednesday morning (July 9th) during Beulah Family Camp 2025. This transformative event will guide pastors and lay leaders through a practical process to equip lay leaders for effective disciple-making within our local contexts. This is a free event hosted by the Atlantic District of The Wesleyan Church. Registration is required for the Tuesday afternoon and the Meet ‘n’ Mingle Networking Sessions on Monday and Tuesday evenings.

  • Don’t miss this excellent opportunity to mobilize the lay leaders in your church family for disciple-making in the “Judea” – Near Quadrant of our Acts 1:8 mandate. Who is coming with you to be commissioned and unleashed?
Steve DeNeff, Jeff Clark, Ryan Ott, & Trent Dailey will be working alongside our own Executive Director Tami Mutch-Ketch to provide leadership for the 48-hour embedded Marketplace Discipleship Conference during Beulah Family Camp. CLICK HERE for all the details. This is all about unleashing lay leaders to take spiritual responsibility for one space outside the walls of the church for making disciples.

We have received a few questions regarding this embedded event – here are a few helpful points of clarification:

  • Registration is optional (and free) and is intended for those who are planning to engage in the events not included in the four regular camp services.
  • The four services during this event (Monday supper – Wednesday lunch) will still be open camp worship times (with slight variations) per normal, but the theme of these services will narrow in the “Disciple Where You Go” to people being disciple-makers in their influence outside the walls of the church.
  • There is no charge for this value-add item, there will be some optional events between the services for those who are coming specifically for this event.
Steve DeNeff will be arriving on Saturday and also preaching in both services on the first Sunday in keeping with our usual camp experience.
