Deep Water BLT (Timothy & McCaila Andrews) hosted their first full-day VBS this month; a week-long adventure with 80+ kids signed up from the church, a local Christian school, and the surrounding neighbourhood. The Andrews shared, “We explored how the truth of the gospel shapes our lives and how we fit into God’s bigger story. We ended the week by inviting everyone back for a movie night, creating another point of connection with parents and kids from our neighbourhood who don’t regularly attend church. We’re watching in real-time the incredible things God is doing through our church.”

“Serve Sunday” is one of Deep Water BLT’s favourite weekends of the year. The Andrews shared, “It’s a chance to share Jesus’ love in tangible ways, start conversations we might not otherwise have, and roll up our sleeves to live out what Jesus taught us about His Kingdom.”
- This year, they reached out to neighbours to ask how we could help—and on Sunday, 45 people came together and took on 11 projects to meet practical needs in our community. They had refreshment stations along the BLT Trail, garbage cleanup in high-traffic areas, and others spreading out across BLT to use skills like carpentry, deck building, demolition, gardening, and painting—so the Kingdom of God could be experienced in Halifax just as it is in heaven.

This week I travelled to the two-day DBMD Institute at Indiana Wesleyan with DBMD Chair Dale MacDonald (Woodstock Wesleyan), DBMD Assistant Secretary Evan Oxner (Amherst Wesleyan & Connection), & Janet Starks (Kingswood University).
- It was a schedule packed with quality presentations and training offered by Education & Clergy Development (Executive Director Johanna Rugh) with dozens of DBMD members from all across North America including Krista Shaver from Central Canada District. A group picture with the Canadian participants and our HQ leaders featured General Superintendent Wayne Schmidt’s spiritual gift of socks!

Caton’s Island Summer Update
Caton’s Island Director-Elect Ben Canney shared this exciting update:
It’s hard to believe that this week marks our final camp of the season! I’m thrilled to share that we’ve seen 133 salvations and recommitments so far this year! Please continue to keep us in prayer as we wrap up this camp and move into our last one. With nearly 140 teens registered, we are anticipating a truly impactful week.
- On top of that wonderful news, I’m excited to announce that the Island has been richly blessed by people who have come alongside us in countless ways—whether addressing water issues, contributing to new buildings, preparing meals, felling trees and milling boards for new construction.
Because of this generosity, we are moving forward with a new canteen building beside the Stephenson Center, with groundbreaking planned for this fall. We have been brainstorming about what this facility could be and how it could be leveraged to generate additional revenue for the island into the future. Thank you all for your continued prayer, support, and partnership in the ministry taking place here.

GP Missionaries Allan & Sheri Stevens
CLICK HERE for an important video update from the Stevens. Their current funding levels are at a critical low-point and now is the time to respond with our strong support.
- Additionally, support for Carl & Maya Gilles is another priority need in our partnership with ends of the earth ministry in the International Conference of The Wesleyan Church.

Ellen joins me in expressing condolences on behalf of our Atlantic District family for the extended family of Robin & Yoko White (GP Missionaries to Japan) and his brother Mike on yesterday’s passing of their father, Doug. - Discipleship happens when we get out there and make mistakes and get coached and guided in the real time living out of our faith. (Ryan Ott)
- Invite people in – this is not just something I want FROM you but something I want FOR you. (Ethan Linder)
- If we care in the marketplace, we may earn the right to evangelize. If we try to just evangelize, we will do neither. (Jeff Clark)
