Flourishing in Ministry
(Optional 24-Hour Retreat After Ministerial)

January 29-30, 2026 (Made for More Ministries)
Resilience is our capacity to adapt, change, and respond to life’s challenges. This will be the theme of our very first Flourishing in Ministry Retreat, where we’ll explore, nurture, and expand this ability together in a warm, welcoming, and uplifting environment.

Another Atlantic Commissioning Sunday!

Cornerstone Wesleyan (Denn Guptill) concluded their fall sermon series The Call this past Sunday. The final message delivered by Deborah Gilbert was followed by Stefan Gilbert’s invitation for lay leaders to stand and be commissioned in their marketplace ministry. There were 36 who stood to be counted for their obedience to be salt and light in the marketplace.
  • CLICK HERE for the final 7 minutes of Deb’s message and Stefan’s tag-team invitation. This is a direct outflow of the Marketplace Discipleship Conference during Beulah Family Camp. When is your church planning to have a Commissioning Sunday?

Save the Date: April 17-18, 2026

The XY Conference brings together men from all across the Atlantic region for a weekend of fun, food, and friendship, all while worshipping and encountering Jesus Christ together. Our prayer is that this will be a life-changing experience for you and all who attend. Hosted at Tidal Church, 945 St. George Blvd, Moncton, NB. April 17-18, 2026.

Giving Tuesday!

It’s Giving Tuesday, and why not start your day with a generous donation to World Hope International (Canada)! They focus on projects that connect with our International Wesleyan Churches and communities through Clean Water, Global Health and Protection. And from now until the end of the year, every dollar you give is doubled up to their 30K goal. CLICK HERE to give today!

A Wall of Christmas Shoeboxes!

The Reach Wesleyan (Andy Phillips) just finished collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse. Andy shared, “This was our fourth year serving as a drop-off location for our area. Our church was able to pack 213 shoeboxes and all total we collected 451 shoeboxes to send to children overseas. Each shoebox represents an average of 7 people who will hear the Gospel message and have a chance to respond and be discipled! And each year we see more community involvement through donations and volunteers. God is transforming lives one shoebox at a time!”

Journey (Matt Maxwell) hosted its first interest night for Journey – Oromocto launch in 2026. There was a great spirit of excitement and collaboration. Campus Pastor Jamie Cambers invites people everywhere to join them in these points of prayer!

Framework (Jason Blaikie) had about 100 volunteers who prepared 500 Thanksgiving meals! Jason shared, “The basket ball team of our local university UMPI joined us as did Job Core (a trade school). Testimonies are coming in about how delivered were able to go in and sit with people, hear their story and share Jesus.”
Framework welcomed David & Amy Sherwood this fall as the new Campus Pastor for the church plant in Fort Kent in partnership through Framework’s multiplication network with other Maine churches.
  • In other district staff updates, Scott (Ruth) Wood concluded 13 years of ministry at Journey this month – we are blessed by his heart and hands for “the least of these” ministries. Tidal has also welcomed their new Worship Pastor this week, Dominique (Corey) Clements – welcome to the Atlantic Tribe!

Framework also hosted The Wesleyan Church National Superintendent of Kenya & Tanzania, Rev. Gloria Azikiwe this Sunday. Their passion for the International Wesleyan Church burns brightly! This Kingdom relationship resulted from the long-standing partnership of the church with EWBC in Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) as Gloria and her husband Joshua have served there in recent years.

Jonathan’s Heart Ministries held their annual Christmas party on Saturday at Solid Rock Wesleyan (Peter Hayes). Assistant Pastor Jennifer White has provided leadership for this ministry for families with autistic children and/or other special needs. Jennifer also serves on the Board of Directors for Hephzibah62:4.

One of the benefits of EFC Affiliate Membership (CLICK HERE to learn more) is access to occasional briefings regarding current federal legislation that impacts religious freedoms. I highly recommend your local church consider becoming an Affiliate. The EFC Team is an outstanding group of Kingdom leaders worthy of our partnership and support in the order of the tribe of Issachar.

It would be helpful for people to contact their local MPs. They could ask their local MP to speak to their colleagues on the Justice Committee, to ask the Justice Committee members to oppose a change to Bill C-9 that would remove the good faith religious belief defence.
  • Bill C-218, the bill that would stop the expansion of MAiD for mental illness alone, will have its first hour of debate next Friday on Dec. 5. Please pray for Canadians struggling with mental illness and for MPs to support Bill C-218. Call or email your local MP today to ask them to support Bill C-218. See the EFC’s one page guide for who to call and what you might say.

Beulah Session of the Camp Board

Executive Director Tami Mutch-Ketch convened the BCCC Session of the Camp Board for a full-day meeting this past Thursday. This was the first defined governance model of leadership for the board. This included a detailed financial update and excellent strategic plans for the future as presented by Director-Elect Wayne Clark. A variety of critical decisions were processed and several operational policies updated. We are blessed to have such a strong and skilled board serving the Kingdom purpose of Beulah Camp and Conference Center.

  • The threat of exile is not that you lose your freedom but that you lose your identity and your story. In exile you settle in – go along to get along. It was the altar that built the church and the church that built the city. (Steve DeNeff)
