Every number has a name.
Brandy was baptized on Sunday at Framework (Jason Blaikie). Every name has a story. And what an incredible story of transformation – PTL! ‘Tis the reason for the season – check it out…
- Jason shared, “Brandy came to us after 10 years in the Mormon Church. She started questioning why the Book of Mormon didn’t always line up with the Bible. Over the last year, Brandy has spent hundreds of hours seeking, asking questions, and healing from religious hurt. So many people rallied around her, poured into her, listened to her frustrations and were patient as she tried to sift through what she learned was truth versus what was false.”
Jason continued, “In this whole journey no one pushed her to Christianity – they just loved her. Four weeks ago Brandy took the step to follow Jesus, this week she was baptized (a huge deal coming out of the Mormon Church). Brandy texted me and said, ‘You have preached so often on transformation that Jesus offers and I only now get it as I am feeling peace and joy more now then I ever have.’ She is made new and will be joining us on our missions trip to Zimbabwe in March. Praise the Lord we are made new, we are celebrating this New Creation.”
- She asked for Victoria Rowe to baptize her because she has been instrumental in this journey to Christ and was surrounded with other women who were key in her journey.
Multiple other Kingdom locations have celebrated baptisms over the past two Sundays including two teens (bottom pic with Youth Pastor Bradford Jordan) – one at Amherst Wesleyan (Evan Oxner) & one at Connection (Campus Pastor Emma Mullen). Also, Yarmouth Wesleyan (AJ Plaizier) had 19 make this public profession of faith this Sunday!

Tidal’s Advent Service this Sunday featured a small army of preschooler worshippers! In promoting the appeal for the three Tidal locations (Miramichi, Moncton, & Shediac) to prepare for the annual Christmas Offering later this month, Lead Pastor Jim Clements announced that a portion of this offering will provide for a grant for rural churches who make application for assistance in completing critical projects.

- Following a recent visit to Amherst Wesleyan, Evan Oxner shared, “So many people were impacted by Tanya Nace’s presentation on Sunday and the gathering after service. Some people were moved to tears, some people were talking about it days later. I had one person say to me, ‘She had me ready to open my wallet and start sending money to some projects.'”

- We need to be the Church but stop thinking like a church. Non-church ideas shouldn’t be transferred but should be translated. (Jim Clements)
- Armor is meant to be dented and chipped, not to hang shiny on the wall. (Robin Downey)
- Just because God said it doesn’t mean we get it. Our dedication demonstrates our faith. Saved people serve people. If God is worth anything He is worth your everything. (Austin White)

Another Atlantic Commissioning Sunday!Cornerstone Wesleyan (Denn Guptill) concluded their fall sermon series The Call with an opportunity in the final message delivered by Deborah Gilbert which was followed by Stefan Gilbert’s invitation for lay leaders to stand and be commissioned in their marketplace ministry. Evangelical Fellowship of Canada Senior Policy Analyst – Beth HiemstraOne of the benefits of EFC Affiliate Membership (CLICK HERE to learn more) is access to occasional briefings regarding current federal legislation that impacts religious freedoms. I highly recommend your local church consider becoming an Affiliate. The EFC Team is an outstanding group of Kingdom leaders worthy of our partnership and support in the order of the tribe of Issachar.
CLICK HERE for the recent presentation addressing Bill C-9, Bill C-218, and an update on MAiD.
- EFC resources on Bill C-9 and the good faith religious belief defence are posted on their website at www.TheEFC.ca/C-9. A summary with resources to talk to your MP is posted there, and also at Talking Points for Good Faith Religious Defense. The Justice Committee is meeting to discuss changes to Bill C-9.
It would be helpful for people to contact their local MPs. They could ask their local MP to speak to their colleagues on the Justice Committee, to ask the Justice Committee members to oppose a change to Bill C-9 that would remove the good faith religious belief defence.
- Bill C-218, the bill that would stop the expansion of MAiD for mental illness alone. Please pray for Canadians struggling with mental illness and for MPs to support Bill C-218. Call or email your local MP today to ask them to support Bill C-218. See the EFC’s one page guide for who to call and what you might say.

Maine Regional Disciple-Maker Conference Planning Continues!Six Maine churches were represented by Lead Pastors to plan and prepare for the first Maine regional “Disciple Where You Go” conference, the evening of May 1 and full day May 2.
- Pastors will gather with Jeff Clark and our Executive Director Tami Mutch-Ketch by Zoom the first week of December with a minimum of one lay leader that they see potential and passion for disciple making, and are willing to join the planning team. We would love for you to join us as well (CLICK HERE for more info).
The planning session this past Wednesday was meaningful and purposeful. Pastors were open and eager to identify the targets and goals for this conference with specific outcomes for their communities. Care and time was provided to planning for how to create momentum along with sharing resources on how to teach and inspire their congregation to be involved. Everyone is committed to teaching the 1:3:2 strategy form Praying on Offense with many presently including this in a teaching series.
- An unexpected outcome of the day was the commitment to meet in person as Maine pastors on a quarterly basis. The cultural mindset of feeling like they are doing ministry alone was met head on and given a strong kick to the curb with a fresh desire to equip and send their lay to the community to lead the work of sharing the Good News of the Gospel.
Yes, we may be planning a conference but clearly more is happening among our Maine pastors. Each individual expressed their gratitude for the day and what they needed moving forward.
