Atlantic Connexion

Happy New Year!
New ways for this new post-pandemic year are already taking shape across the Atlantic region! Unleashing churches for transformed lives has never been more important in than this day of opportunity. Praise God for the reports (too many to list) of restriction-free Christmas outreach events, concerts, Christmas Eve and Christmas Sunday services!
The Solid Rock (Peter Hayes) family played a significant role over the Christmas season in serving those who are facing barriers to fully engage in their community due to mental illness and/or addictions. They donated 125 care packages to the participants of a local ministry to offer the transformative power of a hand up.

  • Peter Hayes & Jennifer White are pictured above with the ministry director who shared, “We were so thankful to receive this generous gift, which enabled our participants to receive key daily essentials, as well as some lovely extras. Thank you to Solid Rock Wesleyan Church – Newfoundland!”

Pastor Clusters resume this months and will be engaging in a three-month exploration of the research on stress-resilience in ministry conducted last year by Dr. Charles Stone. His in-depth insights and practical recommendations for the skills pastors can develop for greater resilience will be a timely investment in the New Year. Special Thanks to the 20+ Cluster Leaders who make this connection opportunity possible for our Ministerial Tribe. Congratulations to John & Jesse Lamos (Lighthouse) on the December 28th arrival of Samuel Walden Eugene! The proud Papa shared, “Momma and baby are doing incredible. Welcome to the world, Little One.  We are so excited to experience who you are, Samuel.  You are fearfully and wonderfully made…you are already so deeply loved, my boy.”

Ellen joins me in expressing sincere condolences on behalf of the Atlantic District to Dave & Vicki Rowe (Framework) on the Christmas morning passing of his mother, Hazel. We offer condolences as well to her grandchildren, Victoria Rowe (Framework) and Tyler.

  • Dave is leading a Celebration of Life Service today @ 11:00 a.m. at Framework Church in Presque Isle. Dave shared, “Mom spent this Christmas with Dad and Jesus. To say that I’m a little envious would be an understatement.”

Please take a moment to remember the Rowe family in prayer this morning.

  • Every year there will be battles in your life…refocus…readjust your sails and focus on the many blessings you have. (Joanne Ozon)
  • The toils of the road will seem nothing when we get to the end of the way. (Dr. HC)
  • If we are too busy using our sickles on each other, we will miss the harvest. (Vance Havner)
