Crosspoint (John Sherwood) – Sunday’s Baptism!
The Saint John First (Graham Perry) church family puts the “multi” in multi-generational. Meet Stella (seated in the lower right pic). The very young man (DJ) in the baby seat is her first Great-GREAT Grandson! The young lady standing in-between is DJ’s Great Grandmother, Trish.

  • It was an excellent service at SJ1 this Sunday, with the first message in a new series, Discipleship Lifestyle. In our meeting after lunch onsite, the LBA voted unanimously and enthusiastically to renew Graham’s Extended Call as Lead Pastor. The strong pastoral team is leading with vision and passion for the future in this post-pandemic rebuilding season.
Combined Youth Worship Night
Over 60 youth and leaders from Houlton (Wayne Robertson) and Framework (Bud Fancy) gathered together at Houlton Wesleyan for a night of worship in song, spiritual disciplines (prayer, meditation, and celebration) as well as communion. Houlton Youth Pastor Andrew Ross shared, “It was a wonderful night, everyone benefited and some saw real change through the love of Jesus. Good things are happening in Houlton and in the County in Maine!”
Woods Harbour Hosts Combined Unity Service
This past Sunday, Woods Harbour (Tim Conrad) hosted the first of several ‘fifth Sunday’ unity services in partnership with West Head (Vince Robertson), Temple United Baptist, and Clarks Harbour United Baptist (the “Stone” church). Tim shared, “139 people from these four churches were present as we worshiped, took Communion together, and raised $1200 in support of the family of Christian Atwood who was recently lost at sea in late December. Pastor Robb Hunt (Clarks Harbour United Baptist) invited his friend, Didymus, to share about the saving grace of Jesus… even for those with their doubts.”

  • It was an overwhelmingly encouraging morning for all in attendance. The next unity service will take place on April 30th at Temple United Baptist with Vince Robertson set to bring the word and the four churches will continue to raise funds for needs in our communities.
Hub Coffee Brews Up Good Deeds in the News
Hub Coffee Manager Dave Rowe (Framework) and his staff were highlighted this week by News Center Maine – CLICK HERE to watch this 2+ minute report with interviews also including Victoria Rowe and openly featuring the direct connection between Framework and Hub Coffee in their desire to serve the community of Presque Isle. Bridges continue to be built in this fresh expression to reach the college students of Northern Maine Community College & University of Maine Presque Isle.

  • Carey Nieuwhof recently shared this nugget of wisdom, “The time has finally come for church leaders to double down on the mission and experiment with the method.” Challenge accepted. Well done, Framework!
This week included meetings under the effective leadership of National Superintendent Steve Elliott. The National Board (upper pic) convened to address a variety of matters including a special report from Ian Dunn regarding research and recommendations to better serve our retired ministers.

  • Several of the church leaders from across Canada & Maine also gathered (lower pic) in continued preparation for the National Prayer Tour. This first-ever event for The Wesleyan Church of Canada was birthed in the heart of Dusty Crozier (Parkway) and will hold prayer meetings over the summer months from coast to coast culminating in the 2nd National Conference in Calgary on August 11-12, 2023.
