Three Cornerstone Families Homeless
When this picture was taken over the weekend the Tantallon, Nova Scotia wildfire was 15 km away from Cornerstone Gatehouse (Denn Guptill). The closest street evacuated by yesterday was only one kilometre from the Cornerstone location in Hammonds Plains with 16,400 displaced from their homes.

  • Denn shared, “I’ve never felt more helpless as a pastor than how I felt as I watched our community burn. With over 16,000 people evacuated, we thank God for no loss of life, but we grieve with those in our community and church family who have lost their homes.”

Cornerstone opened the Windgate location for prayer for the families and fire fighters. By Monday evening it was confirmed three church family homes were gone with several more waiting for confirmation. Our HRM Lead Pastors will provide updates in the days ahead for how we can tangibly support those affected by these tragic events.

The Kings (Brent Ingersoll) XY Conference was a huge Kingdom win for the Atlantic region this weekend. With 600 men of all ages from more than 40 churches from across Maine and the Maritimes, it was a powerful time of worship & The Word.

  • Keynote messages from Kevin Myers (12Stone), Justin Beesley (Hope City), and Brent Ingersoll were engaging and anointed with top notch delivery and challenge.

There were also great snacks and fun – the bull riding was a favourite for those as brave as Andy Phillips (The Reach) who is pictured above giving it a try!

It was an exciting day at CenterPoint (Glen McVicar) on Sunday! There were 58 who gathered for worship to celebrate the year of ministry with Compass Kids. CenterPoint is experiencing an encouraging season of growth and rebuilding including a new and full worship team. Glen preached with freedom, joy, and authority. The majority of the congregation stayed for a delicious potluck BBQ dinner. The McVicar family is to be commended for persevering through the challenging pandemic years of impact.

This past week in Amherst, Evan Oxner shared, “On Tuesday we participated in the Canadian Wesleyan National Prayer Tour, by doing a Prayer Walk in five different locations across town. There were a few neat community connections from it, lots of insights from the Holy Spirit and I think a strong statement to the enemy that he has no claim on our kids or this town!”

Locations this week are…

Tuesday: The Ridge (Mike Agrell), Maple Ridge, NB
Wednesday: Woodstock Wesleyan (Dale MacDonald), NB
Thursday: Hartland Wesleyan (Dave Wilcox/Brian Murray), NB
Friday: Perth Andover Wesleyan (Dave Hartlen), NB
Saturday: Blacks Harbour Wesleyan (Ken Banks), NB
Sunday: Kings (Brent Ingersoll), Quispamsis, NB

The worship times @ XY Conference featured Craig Baltzer, an artist from Kings Halifax (Seth Fancy). Craig began with a blank canvas in the first rally on Friday night and completed his work during the final service on Saturday afternoon. The tradition of Randolph Nicholson and the spirit of ministry through art-as-worship continues in this generation.
  • Church is never about one, Church is about many. Pastors cannot do what we do without those who come alongside. (Glen McVicar)
  • There is nothing more powerful than a legion of men in worship! (Brent Ingersoll)
  • You have a Person bigger than your problems therefore you have a purpose bigger than your problems. God doesn’t exist to solve your problems; He wants to help you accomplish your purpose. (Kevin Myers)
One Con – June 2-3, 2023 @ Moncton Coliseum
ONE Conference has always been a movement seeking to align the youth of Atlantic Canada with the heart of God. As revival spreads and Gen Z are increasingly called into a deeper relationship with Jesus, the timing of this gathering has never been more important. We are so excited to return to the Moncton Coliseum for 2023, and to be able to get everyone in ONE space, as ONE church, worshipping ONE God.
