I enjoyed a whirlwind trip to Newfoundland & Labrador this weekend to spend a packed couple of days with our Solid Rock family. Peter & Cathy Hayes are leading an encouraging rebound out of the pandemic with several new families in attendance in the past 1-2 years.

• Saturday afternoon was a huge success with 83 guests (plus volunteers) attending a two-hour drop-in Christmas Party for families with autistic children. This event was an outreach of Jonathan’s Heart – a ministry started by Assistant Pastor Jennifer White as an extension of Solid Rock connection with the greater community of the Avalon Peninsula. Jonathan (pictured with Mrs. Santa above) is the special needs foster child of Jennifer and Chris and this ministry has opened many doors into families in the area.

The weekend also included a fun Sunday afternoon carolling – if you look closely you can see one grateful couple in the window above (picture middle right). The lower left picture captured a few of the 30+ folks who engaged this fall in a full offering of the Alpha program complete with a delicious meal each week.

• They have also been visited this year by Dr. HC & Debby, the Kingswood Vision Tour, & earlier this fall by Dr. Steve Elliott. This summer nearly 20 folks from Solid Rock joined us at Beulah Family Camp to celebrate Jennifer White’s Ordination – an incredible expression of support and connection!

Lower Hainesville (Peggy Yetman) have partnered with the Salvation Army again this Christmas to sponsor a local family in need. An impressive demonstration of the love of Christ for a family with four little girls who are grieving from a recent death in the family. Peggy shared, “We hope to be a beacon of love to them.”

Tami & Victor hosted a super fun Camp Leaders Christmas Party at Heartland on Thursday evening. Chef Hannah Wright prepared a beautiful cake for the event and a fun time was had by all. We are so blessed with a growing group of Kingdom leaders in helping to see both Beulah Camp & Conference Center and Caton’s Island grow in reaching more people each year.

This past Saturday morning all three Wesleyan Church in Fredericton held a first-ever kid’s ministry collaborative Christmas event. Diana Billings (Corbett Kid’s Pastor) shared, “Corbett Kids, Crosspoint Kids and Journey Kids partnered together to throw our own Gingerbread Bash for families. With 166 people in attendance we played games, sang songs, heard the Gospel through the Christmas story, and each family built their own gingerbread nativity! It was a blast, and we are looking forward to partnering together more in the future.”

We are going to get a front row seat to unpack the amazing resource of Kingswood Learn during District Ministerial. President Lennox will be onsite to provide a thorough introduction to his phenomenal and cost-effective resource for raising and releasing leaders in our local churches!

Last week, I enjoyed a few extra minutes with Steve following a Trustee Sub-committee meeting. He is leading with courage and effectiveness in this season and has already raised over $1.1M in cash and pledges toward the five-year goal of $2.7M to make this resource available for free to serve the local church. What will this include?

● Two-sided platform offering high-quality, thoroughly vetted, free micro-courses addressing questions commonly raised in the church.
● Primary purpose is to strengthen the church by providing free resources for discipleship and leadership development.
● As a two-sided platform, individuals can be both consumers and producers, using the content provided by Kingswood, but also customizing the platform by adding their own content.
● Some users will also be inspired by tasting the high-quality learning offered in these micro-courses to take advantage of Kingswood’s other options, such as certificate and credit-bearing programs.

Clean water touches every aspect of our lives. And access to nearby clean water changes the game for vulnerable communities! This Christmas we are celebrating “When the Clean Water Came…” and inviting your church to partner with World Hope to help see transformation happen around the world.
