Atlantic Connexion

Saturday evening at Yarmouth (AJ Plaizier) was filled with fun, food, and fellowship as 225 people from many churches, and the community, came together and gathered around one cause – to partner together and offer clean water to those who do not have access to it in Sierra Leone through World Hope International – Canada (CEO Tanya Nace). Assistant Pastor Dave Hockley provides exceptional leadership to this annual event. Dave shared, “It was clear throughout the evening that people had caught the vision for changed lives through clean water! One trifle even sold in the dessert auction for $1,300!”

  • A new well costs approximately $13K CAD and the evening result added $15K+ to the total began in 2019. Since then (including Saturday’s event), Yarmouth Wesleyan has been able to provide funding for 11 wells through WHI-C and has been able to repair an additional 15 wells. Praise the Lord for this incredible impact in the Name of JesusI This multi-year effort has provided clean water for more than 33K people in West Africa.

Everyone had great fun at Super Seniors last Thursday with 120 in attendance for the Annual Not-So- Newlywed Game and lunch. This is a vibrant Seniors Ministry of Moncton (Jim Clements) led by Joyce Gildart. Joyce shared, “Lots of laughter!”

  • Moncton Wesleyan also commissioned a missions team in Sunday’s service led by Missions Pastor Jordan Day which is headed to serve The Wesleyan Church in Bahamas this week. This team also has members from other churches including Saint John First (Graham Perry).

Pastoral Transtions/Recalls

  • Dave (Dawn) Wilcox resigned this Sunday as Lead Pastor at Hartland Wesleyan. The Wilcox’s will be completing their service in Hartland at the usual time of pastoral transition in July.
  • Brian Gilroy received unanimous support last week from the Island Wesleyan LBA for an upcoming congregational vote to offer him an Extended Call as Lead Pastor.

  • Shawn Craven received a unanimous vote from the Havelock Wesleyan LBA to renew his Extended Call as Lead Pastor. In the midst of his review, he received a call from the Fire Department where he and Assistant Pastor Kathryn Brooks volunteer and so we prayed for him and sent him out to save lives!

My monthly Northeast DS Pastor Cluster for February provided a full overview last week of Recovery Church, which is a parachurch ministry complimentary to Celebrate Recovery and other 12 Step Programs. • Rev. Billy Robel (pictured above left) launched and leads a Recovery Church in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. Over the past two years they have baptized 111 new Believers – PTL! A different approach than Celebrate Recovery, but a complimentary option for creating a congregation that specifically targets the needs of families dealing with addictions.

Overdose is the #1 cause of death in the United States for people under 50. Each year it kills more people than those who lost their lives in the entire Vietnam War. What if families suffering from addiction could come to a church where it is OK not to be OK?

  • Rev. Anita Eastlack has coordinated the efforts of four Wesleyan churches in the Lehigh Valley to launch a second Recovery Church on the Northeast District. The couple pictured above right were married by Anita during their Recovery Church service last Friday night!

Congratulation, Dr. Bob & Brenda Bagley on your retirement from Global Partners! On February 27th, Global Partners is celebrating the 42 years of career Missionaries Bob & Brenda Bagley. Bob’s leadership as Africa Area Director provided a wise transition to National leadership. • An in-person reception will be held on at HQ in Fishers, Indiana, but all those who have supported their missionary service over the years are encouraged to add to their Kudoboard with any words or pictures you would like to share with the Bagleys as they step into this new season of life: Bagley Kudoboard. We are so proud of you and love you Bob & Brenda!
Sharing God’s Love through World Hope Canada

The humanitarian crisis worsens daily for vulnerable children and families in both Gaza and Israel.  World Hope International’s ministry partners on the ground tell us a very brief window is open to get food, shelter, transportation, and medical supplies to those suffering.  We have a chance to make a real difference in the lives of children and families caught in the Israel-Gaza war, but we don’t know how long the opportunity will last. Will you support this urgent need? The first $50,000 raised will be matched dollar for dollar.
