Another Crosspoint Baptism!

The first Sunday of the new church year was a special one at Crosspoint (John Sherwood) as another transformed life was celebrated! As the coming weeks will host annual church business meetings across the Atlantic region, there is nothing that brings greater glory to God in our shared mission to reach people for Jesus.

Missions Weekend @ The River

The River (Mark Soone) hosted its Spring Mission Celebration led by the Missions Team as pictured above with GP Missionaries Carl & Maya Gilles and their kids as special guests. Mark shared the following highlights

  • On Saturday we enjoyed a French meal, prepared by our missions team, in honor of our new ministry partnership with Carl & Maya Gilles and family. Carl and Maya shared their hearts about the ministry that God has called them to, and we loved getting to connect and build relationships with them. They are awesome if you are looking for a new missionary family to partner with!
  • On Sunday we were joined by a local ministry “First Step Pregnancy Center”  and enjoyed a special service highlighting all of the local and global ministries that God has enabled us to partner with.
  • We had 120+ people celebrate mission over the weekend and we are already working towards our Fall Mission Celebration Weekend!

It was a privilege to serve yesterday alongside President Steve Lennox on the Wesleyan Education Council (top picture) as we spent the day addressing a variety of critical matters impacting our schools. The courageous leadership of our Presidents cannot be overstated in what continues to be an exceptionally challenging context.

An impressive example of this is the recent work of Abbi Langille (3rd year Theology student) who put together this preaching resource (CLICK HERE to view) as part of her apprenticeship with me this past semester with Jeremy MacDonald (Teaching Pastor @ Moncton Wesleyan).

  • There will be great pain, and there will be great joy. In the end, joy wins. So, if joy has not yet won, it is not yet the end. (John Ortberg)
  • To be in pilgrimage is to have not yet arrived. There is a longing in prayer that is never fulfilled in this life, and sometimes the deep satisfactions we are looking for in prayer feel few and far between. Prayer is a journey. (Tim Keller)
  • It is not those who have the most, but those who make the most of what they have, who are rewarded. (Wayne Schmidt)
