It’s Monday Again

Mike Agrell (The Ridge) and Evan Oxner (Amherst) share their cohort experience this winter in a recent Zoom interview with Auxano Senior Lead Navigator Mike Gammill (pictured lower left). CLICK HERE to watch what they had to say about this investment of their time. If you a leading a church in the +/- 150 zone, Auxano offers a three session cohort which includes customized coaching to set ministry goals for your church. Both Mike & Evan took advantage of this opportunity during the winter and share the benefits of this journey in this 18-minute interview. If you are a Lead Pastor and are interested in pursuing this option, just CLICK HERE to email Mike Gammill with any questions.
Looking good! Kathy Jeffries (Head of Millstream) has just completed a church project to put on a new roof. Kathy and Tim are serving this church family with excellence in passion and compassion and accomplishing these kinds of “extra ministry demands” is no small feat. Special thanks especially to Tim Jeffries for the tremendous amount of work he has done on both the Church and the Parsonage. We all know the Church is not a building, but we are grateful for faithful stewards like our Head of Millstream family in caring for the resources God has entrusted to us for His work.
Executive Director Russ Gunsalus met this week with our Atlantic DBMD Executive to explore the possibility of piloting the Called Journey over the coming year with a few selected “prophets-in-process” currently in our DBMD track. The Called Journey is a new DBMD competency based approach to ministerial credentialing. More than half of the districts in the North American General Conference have elected to beta-test this at some level in the lead up to its formal presentation and potential approval at General Conference in May 2022. We are blessed to serve in a denomination not satisfied with the status quo – especially in raising leaders to be both faithful and fruitful!
If you aren’t taking advantage of the monthly webinars provided by Church Multiplication & Discipleship @ HQ (CMAD), you’re missing out! CLICK HERE to register for June’s offering which happens tomorrow. All of the webinars from the previous year are also archived for you to invest in the leaders of your church family.Reclaiming Holiness: Holiness has an image problem. It is not about a relentless list of rules and judgments. It’s about a life lived in a transformational and missional way empowered by God’s Spirit. Just click on the link above to take part tomorrow!

Additionally, would you like to experiment with a new devotional designed for families, and/or settings of friends and neighbours? If so, Kim Gladden (Director of Discipleship) of CMAD would love to send you a free packet of Scripture Squared created by Amanda Drury (Indiana Wesleyan University).

This devotion brings you into the Biblical story as a participant, not just casual observer. It’s all explained in the packet – but you must see it to understand its beauty. There’s also an app you can download to serve as your “narrator” throughout the experience. If you would like a packet sent to your home, just email Kim your name and mailing address. Then get creative with the community you want to disciple using these materials. While created for small groups, it would certainly work with individual families as well.

We are blessed to be served by our HQ Team with leaders like Kim Gladden who are passionate about equipping the Church to make disciples.

Points to Ponder
  • Treat success with the same skepticism as failure. (Rasmus Ankersen)
  • Spiking your church’s numbers by hijacking the algorithm or using vanity metrics is like living on energy drinks. The boost lasts for a few hours and then you crash. You can’t build your future off 3 second views. (Carey Nieuwhof)
  • Challenges are part of a purpose-filled journey. Challenges should not be a deterrent. Challenges should spur us on. (Nthabiseng Legoete)

What if COVID-19 is the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
for leaders to think more strategically
about doing church?
