Monday Again

I spent two days this week in the Central Canada District where I chaired their District Conference and officiated at the Ordination Service. I was doing so on assignment from our General Superintendent.  There are quite a number there with Atlantic roots including two of our military Chaplains – Capt. Ray Smith, Royal Canadian Army and Lt. Brandon Melanson, Royal Canadian Navy.
Halifax Metro.
KV recently held their VBS and had 350 kids present for the 4 day camp. There were at least 12 decisions for Christ and some 100 volunteers staffed the VBS.
Fredericton Journey recently celebrated “The Church Has Left the Building.” – 7 teams  conducted a service at a senior’s home; had BBQ at three city parks; handed out free pizza downtown; helped a family move and served at a soup kitchen. Another team stayed at the church and provided a prayer covering. Circa 100 volunteers served about 415 people.
Riverside Camp begins its 2013 season in just a week’s time. Check out their schedule at www.riversidewesleyancampground.com. I visited Riverside last Sunday and the grounds are looking good – well prepped and ready for campers.
Beulah 2013 kicked off on Friday in the midst of a real heat wave. The camp runs through next Sunday with District Conference on Thursday and Ordination on Friday. Deep appreciation is expressed to the many volunteers who helped get the grounds ready for camp.
