An Evangelism Cross @ Amherst (Evan Oxner) |
|
Worshippers at Amherst Wesleyan have a unique weekly opportunity to share their commitment to evangelism. During congregational worship anyone may come forward and pound a nail in the wooden cross on the edge of the platform. This symbolizes someone for whom they are praying God will grant an open door to share the Gospel.
- Once they have shared, they place a white ribbon on the nail. When someone accepts Christ, they place a red ribbon. Hearing the pounding of these nails was a powerful reminder of the call of Christ on each one of our lives to share our faith. A great idea to inspire faithful seed-sowing of transformational truth!

|
It was encouraging to be with our Amherst family this Sunday with passionate worship and onpoint preaching as this multigenerational church is growing and rebuilding in this post-pandemic season. |

ONE Conference has always been a movement seeking to align the youth of Atlantic Canada with the heart of God. As revival spreads and Gen Z are increasingly called into a deeper relationship with Jesus, the timing of this gathering has never been more important. We are so excited to return to the Moncton Coliseum for 2023, and to be able to get everyone in ONE space, as ONE church, worshipping ONE God.

Ellen joins me in expressing sincere condolences on behalf of the Atlantic District to Roosevelt Benson on Saturday’s passing of his dear wife, Grace. Rosie was Ordained 72 years ago and their life of ministry is a cherished part of our spiritual heritage. A celebration of Gracie’s life is planned for the coming weekend. An email will be sent to our ministerial family with final funeral details as they are yet to be posted by York Funeral Home in Fredericton. |

- Only holiness can break the cycle of our past. (Evan Oxner)
- You can’t bury influence. (Dale MacDonald)
- People will naturally vacillate between online and in-person offerings—between the virtual and physical—from this point on, feeling that both options are not only acceptable but also count as having attended. This hybrid model is the model all churches must embrace. Let’s not have cyber wars the way we had worship wars. (James Emery White)
