Deep Water (AJ Thomas) Celebrates 13 Baptisms Plus 6 Adult Affirmations This Sunday – PTL!!!
Dave Dixon (Hillside) pictured lower right planned a wonderful concluding service at the Ritcey location this Sunday. I was privileged to share in this special day with Founding Pastor Dr. HC, Reid Stairs, along with Jay & Sharon Guptill. The Hillside family began in 1974 and moved into the newly constructed Ritcey location in 1975.

  • And after 48 years of serving one spiritual family, Dave announced to the applause of the congregation that an offer has been accepted to sell it to another church in HRM with a closing date later this summer. Hillside is rebuilding with strength coming out of the pandemic and the Parkway location will continue as the site for primary worship and ministry.

Some of the West Head (Vince Robertson) family walked 5 km on Saturday to raise money for the Clean Well project with World Hope International Canada. Assistant Pastor Karen Robertson shared, “Our N2Y Kidz (Never Too Young to Minister) set a goal that they would raise $1000.00. Vince said if they could do it, they could throw a pie in his face! At the walk, they had $788. By 11am before the Sunday Service they had raised $1118.00! Vince got up close with 6 pies at the end of church, and he didn’t get to eat any of them.”
Kingswood Partnership with Campus.Edu Launches!
You have likely already heard the BIG NEWS about Kingswood’s exciting partnership with Campus.edu (CLICK HERE). A contract was signed by Kingswood University with Campus.Edu to create Kingswood Learn, a platform hosting free high-quality micro-courses for ministry training, leadership development, and professional growth. President Lennox shared, “We’re convinced this will strengthen the church, a central pillar of our mission.” CLICK HERE to get a taste of Kingswood Learn!

  • During Beulah Family Camp @ 1:30 p.m. on Ordination Day (July 14th), a special Kingswood Learn Workshop will be offered by Dr. Darren Campbell & President Steve Lennox to demonstrate the features of the Kingswood Learn platform.

ALL pastors and key lay leaders are strongly encouraged to stay after lunch on Ordination Day for this innovative workshop as Atlantic District Churches have opportunity to get in on the ground level to access and benefits of these micro-courses for raising leaders in the local church. The DBA is recommending churches consider the minimum “badging” level for a local church certificate you may create as part of the 400 Leaders 2027 Vision. This has a very nominal certification fee per micro-course and will still be available for free even if Kingswood is not asked to certify satisfactory completion.

No power? No problem!
Hats off to BCCC Property Development Officer Rob Trafton and all those who generously gave to provide a critical upgrade for Beulah Camp with this industrial grade generator for the Beulah Hotel & Dining Hall. This on-site back up plan is long overdue since conversations for it began during the aftermath of Hurricane Arthur in 2014. There are countless ways that people invest their time and resources for the mission of Beulah Camp & Conference Center to unleash churches for transformed lives.

Ellen joins me in expressing our condolences to Pete & Janet Thomas on the June 9th passing of her mother, Bonnie McNally. We also extend our thoughts and prayers for the families of their sons Luke & AJ Thomas (Deep Water) and the extended family. CLICK HERE for her obituary with opportunity to share personal tributes and support for the family.

Thursday’s service was a meaningful celebration of Bonnie’s life and influence. Janet shared a touching eulogy and AJ preached a heartfelt message. AJ shared, “She made things beautiful and she knew me. That’s what Grammy did. She was just like Jesus.”
