Atlantic Connexion

Welcome to the new format, time, and day of our weekly Atlantic Ministerial Tribeupdate from the desk of the District Superintendent – Atlantic Connexion!
It was a glorious day of celebration in the Beulah Tabernacle on Friday! After two years of Zoom Ordinations, we were finally able to gather and celebrate the affirmation of calling to the office and work of ministry. Ordination is the highest honour bestowed on any Believer by the Church. The classes of 2020 (six Ordinands) & 2021 (five Ordinands) were invited to join this year’s ceremony.

Congratulations to the Class of 2022 with seven Ordinands:

Dr. HC Wilson presided over the Act of Ordination and Rev. Tanya Nace preached. Since the beginning of the pandemic we have Ordained 18 Ministers – PTL! More than one-third of these newest ministers in our ranks are women. Dr. Ken Gorveatte (1960), Rev. Gene Hudson (1962), & Dr. LD Buckingham (1962) were all honoured for 60 years of Ordained Ministry!

Beulah Family Camp Baptism
More details will be shared next week about the many ways God was present and at work during Beulah Family Camp 2022. The Saturday afternoon Baptism was a special Kingdom highlight capably led by Rev. Glen McVicar (CenterPoint).
Rev. Mick Veach
Dr. Steve DeNeff
Our Camp Evangelists preached passionate and transformational messages on the theme, “Now is the Time for Renewal!” CLICK HERE to be challenged by one of these messages from Saturday morning. CLICK HERE to access the Beulah Camp YouTube channel with all services recorded.

  • The famous reading, Others May – You Cannot by G. D. Watson was shared by Dr. DeNeff and is an excellent reminder of our place in God’s story. There was a palpable sense of the Master’s touch in the services and this was evidenced by so many who came forward in various ways to express commitment in response to the challenge of the messages.

Special thanks to Kelly Jay, Stefan Gilbert, Art Hiebert and so many others who provided first-class quality times of worship that were anointed with His presence and the joy-filled praises of His people!

Beulah Family Camp VBS Choir
A heartfelt word of appreciation to all those who worked tirelessly to serve the many areas of ministry required to see Beulah Family Camp 2022 impact lives and families. Too many names to mention – those in the kitchen, kids & teen programs, on the stage or on the clean-up crews for buildings at day’s end and everywhere in between – every role and task important in creating a context the Lord used to stir hearts for healing and transformation.
Mullen Heritage Video
A 25-minute video highlighting many of the historic nuggets of our humble beginnings has been provided (thanks to Justin McGuigan) from the perspective of Dr. Laurence & Vesta Mullen. CLICK HERE to enjoy this heritage stroll down memory lane, as you are reminded of the mission God has entrusted us with Beulah Camp.
District Superintendent Report
The 134th Session of the Atlantic District Conference was a meaningful day to be reignited and reunited in our shared mission. Bruce Cheney’s “magic” oval boxes were appreciated by the 50+ pastors and lay people who received them with a special gift inside to highlight a variety of ways God has been at work through their labours.

Renewal for A New Beginning
This moment was captured from the front steps of River Haven and reflects the answered prayers we experienced for times of refreshing and renewal. While not everyone was able to enjoy the entire experience of Beulah Family Camp, District Conference, & Ordination – our district family left our times on the Tabernacle mount with a sense of renewal by His Spirit for the new days of challenge and blessing ahead!

DeNeff Points to Ponder

  • The attitude of Christ is not something you must look for in your church – it is something you must bring.
  • If there is no place for it in Jesus’ humanity, there is no place for it in mine.
  • Be disciples who go after Moby Dick in a rowboat and bring the tartar sauce!
