It’s Monday Again

Kings (Brent Ingersoll) celebrated 13 baptisms across their locations this weekend with more scheduled for next weekend in Halifax – PTL! Every number has a name, every name has a story that matters for eternity. The two pandemic fiscal years of Atlantic church ministry reaped a harvest of 462 baptisms!
Browns Flat Fellowship (Steve Bradley) held a first-class retirement dinner this past week in honour of 50 years of local church ministry! Steve & Heather shared together in yesterday’s service about ministry highlights over the years as they conclude their ministry.
  • I was honoured as a boy to have Steve baptize me during their ministry at Olivet (now Crosspoint). They are both trustworthy Kingdom stewards and so many of us are blessed to call them friends and have benefited from their loving care and wisdom.
CLICK HERE for some more pics of this special retirement celebration. Steve shared, “What a special evening this was. So many kind things were said. It has been a joy for us to serve in pastoral ministry for 50 years. We have known and loved many wonderful people. Tonight’s outpouring of love is deeply appreciated.”
New Hope (Scott Prime) had about 90 volunteers gather Wednesday night for Volunteer Appreciation Night. The pastors served ice cream and handed out awards with a final word of encouragement from Scott to conclude the evening.
A fresh wind of vision is blowing in Lower Hainesville (Peggy Yetman)! CLICK HERE to listen as Peggy and LAC Member, Paul Lemmon, share about the doors God is opening for the chapter of renewal and growth ahead.
Journey (Matt Maxwell) recently held another Newcomer’s Café for those new to the church family with an encouraging turn out of 31! Matt shared, “It was a great time. We have had almost 200 new people at Journey in the last two years.”
World Hope has been busy preparing for the upcoming hurricane season. Alan Dunn (Moncton) and World Hope Canada’s Deborah Gilbert (Cornerstone) both participated in training with local first responders and military personnel in Cozumel and El Salvador respectively. These partnerships are to strengthen the local response should a disaster hit their region.

This past weekend, a World Hope team arrived in Bosnia (pictured above on the Livno lookout) with several from the Atlantic District. They will be leading English camps with World Hope International Bosnia for the next two weeks. Team members include Victoria Rowe and Ingrid Sutherland (Framework), Katie Thomas (Easton), Dwayne York (Amherst) and Jaclyn Gallant (PEI). Team leader is MJ Pearson (Trenton Wesleyan, ON).
  • It is exciting to see teams head back overseas. If your church is interested in a vision trip, or exploring a partnership with World Hope, please email info@worldhope.ca to get the conversation started!
If you are fan of the daily Wordle, you may have wondered if the choice yesterday was intended to send someone’s father a not-so-subtle message. The word was loser. In Jeremy MacDonald’s (Moncton) Father’s Day message yesterday we were reminded that while God is our Father, our fathers are not god. So many struggle in their understanding of God’s love because of earthly fathers who fall short. CLICK HERE for a timely reminder of the ways Dads need to wisely invest Kingdom influence with their FIRST ministry – their family.
  • PRAYER UPDATE: Please continue to lift up the Wilson family as Gloria is surrounded by family and receiving excellent care at the Moncton Hospital.
Points to Ponder
  • Continuing the same things that aren’t bringing renewal, won’t bring renewal. (Timothy Andrews)
  • Is our church experience a fly wheel for devotion or something that feeds consumerism? (Jeff Lockyer)
  • If you don’t have faith, you’re barking up the wrong tree. (George Derksen)
