Pastoral Transitions

  • Congratulations to Drew & Amy Donovan as they relocate to Ottawa to begin leadership at Sunnyside Wesleyan.
  • Welcome to Josh Forbes as he began serving this month as Youth Pastor @ Kings (Brent Ingersoll).
National Conference 2023 Prayer Tour
The Wesleyan Church of Canada National Prayer Tour concluded during National Conferecne as Kingswood University students, Luke & Tom, shared about the 60 prayer events from coast to coast from the end of April through August 12th. These impressive young men of God passionately shared how God was at work through prayer across Maine & Canada this summer.

One of the highlights of National Conference was the opportunity to engage in three Breakout Sessions offered. The notes of these sessions are now available and are filled with wisdom and practical direction for the assigned topics. CLICK on each title to access the PDF.

Rev. Dr. Laurence K. Mullen – 70 Years Ordained

It was a special highlight during our Ordination Service on July 14th to honour 70 years of Ordained Ministry by Dr. Laurence K. Mullen. CLICK HERE to enjoy this moment we shared together. Although the Laurence & Vesta were unable to be with us in person, they were present online for the livestream and his granddaughter recently sent this handsome picture of Dr. Mullen with his gifts from our District tribe.

  • Laurence, was one of many leaders highlighted during our time together at Beulah Family Camp who had been influenced by our Meductic Reformed Baptist Church. The impact of Kingdom leaders raised and released through this small church over 75 years at “the end of the path” has given us inspiration for our present-day Meductic Mandate as we believe God for 400 Leaders by 2027.

Wondering what the “Meductic Mandate” is all about? CLICK HERE for my DS Report to get the full picture, and CLICK HERE for the Meductic Testimonies distributed at our District Conference.

Pastor Cluster Leaders met this week for our quarterly session in preparation for the Sep-Nov monthly clusters ahead. Guest leader, Dr. Jeremy Summers, reviewed two of the resources we will be highlighting for our local churches in our Meductic Mandate.
  • We are excited to lean into the Luke 10:2 Prayer Events across our region this fall as our churches lay the foundation for the Called, Cultivated, & Commissioned journey of raising and releases leaders ahead. After our one-hour session concluded, four of us stayed on for another 15-20 minutes as the synergy of this vision is already beginning to take root in several of our churches!
Our Pastor Clusters will provide a focused opportunity each month to contextualize this journey in each local church as we seek to activate the personal calling of Kingdom leaders and disciple those called with this excellent Live Sent resource. Stay tuned for more direction in the weeks ahead!
District Camp Ministry has been led with excellence as our Executive Director Tami Mutch-Ketch  and the Camp Board work alongside staff for both Beulah Camp & Conference Center and Caton’s Island. This past Sunday a worship team from Moncton (Jim Clements) served in the Tabernacle with the message offered by Denn Guptill (Cornerstone).
  • The BCCC staff enjoyed a team lunch together this week (bottom picture) and one of our summer staff members, Emma shared, “Since it’s my last day at Beulah I just wanted to make an appreciation post to all the amazing people that made this summer amazing I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the office and getting to serve such a wonderful body of believers! I hope everyone has an amazing rest of the summer.”

Join us at Caton’s Island for a great weekend as we explore our purpose as men which God has set in our hearts. Great food (smoked brisket), lots of fun with zipline, skeet shooting and axe throwing and the camaraderie of other men. Don’t miss out on a great time and bring a friend.
  • If you missed out on the rededication of the Choate Dining Hall this summer, CLICK HERE to watch this 17-minute presentation.
Congratulation to Brackton & Kara Wall on their wedding this weekend! Brackton serves as Assistant Pastor @ Kings Charlottetown with Jon Robertson.
  • Sometimes churches get so caught up in the “how things get done” that we lose focus of the “why” we do them. (Denn Guptill) #fishersofmen
  • God wants us to have a “YES” before we fully understand His purpose. (Kevin Myers)
  • A wisely led church always honors the past, lives in the present, and serves for the sake of the next generation. (Dan Reiland)
What is PreacHER Sunday all about?

The Wesleyan Church has the premier seminal egalitarian influence in the history of the North American Church as our antecedent denominations Ordained the first woman both in America and in Canada. Luther Lee (Wesleyan Methodist) Ordained the first woman in the USA in 1853, and Rev. Ella Kinney Sanders was Ordained by the Reformed Baptist Alliance of Canada in 1901.

As you have likely heard, E&CD is celebrating PreacHer Sunday this September!  What is PreacHer Sunday about? It is encouraging every Wesleyan Church to invite a woman to preach at least one Sunday during the month of September.

  • We recognize that many of our Wesleyan churches do not have females on staff.  To help navigate this, HQ has created a database of women available to preach during the month of September. HQ is asking that all credentialed women use this form (CLICK HERE) to share their availability to preach in September. If you would like assistance in finding the right fit for your church, please contact DBA Member, Victoria Rowe (Framework) at pastorvictoria@framework.church.
Thank you for partnering with us as we encourage women and men together to share the transforming message of Jesus!
  • It was also announced during an event for Women in Ministry @ Beulah Family Camp that the Atlantic District will provide a 100% reimbursement on the registration expense for any credentialed lady from our Ministerial Tribe who chooses to attend the Wesleyan Holiness Women Clergy Conference on March 7-9, 2024. CLICK HERE for registration details (travel, lodging, and meals are a personal/church expense).
Early bird registration concludes on October 15th.
