It’s Monday Again

About 30 Atlantic ministers and spouses gathered this Thursday afternoon in support of the family and for the celebration of the life and ministry of Rev. Leslie Hicks (John denHollander officiating). Our long-standing tradition of being present when possible to honour our ministerial family during these times is deeply meaningful and reflects our commitment to the values of being stronger together in our spiritual foundations. On behalf of the Hicks family, thank you to all those were able to attend.
District Ministerial (Jan 22-24) is right around the corner with Keynote Speaker Jon Wiest and Kelly Jay as Worship Leader! With more than 220 registered (including kids) we are ready for an energizing time of spiritual renewal as we focus on the importance of Local Church Discipleship Pathways. Can’t wait to see how this springboards district-wide after Ministerial (Jan 22-24) as we launch SIX Discipleship Pathway Cohorts in February with more than 80% of our district churches!
A team of nearly 20 is headed to the 100th Anniversary Celebration in May of the Wesleyan Standard Church of Egypt. This week included an opportunity to meet for the first time as a group and begin preparations. #globalcollectiveAn additional opportunity to partner with the International Wesleyan Church is still available if your church is interested in sending a team to rebuild two Wesleyan churches and communities in the Bahamas through World Hope International (Canada). Please email Alan Dunn (alan.dunn@hotmail.com) for more information about how to get involved.

The third Atlantic cohort of pastors and churches exploring potential satellite ministry convened again this week under the effective coaching of Ken Nash. So thankful for his wisdom and experience as he skillfully guides our leaders to discern next steps in Kingdom multiplication.
This week included our monthly regional DS Zoom as we continue to implement our Wesleyan partnership with Exponential. I am truly grateful for our denominational leadership at HQ and our districts – the right leaders for the right season – so sensitive to the Spirit’s leading. There are winds of change blowing over our tribe, and I have confidence God is at the helm and is positioning us for greater days of missional impact!Transitions:

  • Rich (Katie) Thomas (The River) will candidate for Lead Pastor at Easton on February 9th with a congregational vote held the following Sunday (Feb 16).
Points to Ponder:
  • Who needs to be connected with who to win? (Wes Smith)
  • Preference deafens a person to obedience. (Wayne Schmidt)
  • It doesn’t just take a person to disciple a person, it takes a community to disciple a person. (Bill Hull)
